Oh, noes! I remember my sister and I would regularly exit the house by pushing our screens out and levering each other over the pointy sill. Granted, this is much easier to do when your house is one storey tall, but thoes aluminium frames can really scrape your stomach! Eventually, the screen frames got bent out of shape and wouldn't stay in! We got new windows, but luckily it wasn't because of our silly defenestration shenanagins! My older sis recently lost the key to her apartment in Japan, and had to climb up a drainpipe to her second-floor balcony...
